Work-Study lets you earn money for college
You can contribute to your educational expenses through student employment on campus or in a community service role. There are two employment programs: Federal Work-Study for those with financial need and the college work program, which does not require proof of financial need.
Federal Work-Study
The Financial Aid Office awards Federal Work-Study to students who have a need determined by the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. To be eligible, a student must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident alien.
- Acceptance of Federal Work-Study on the award letter via Self-Service Financial Aid/My Awards does not guarantee that a student will be placed in a Federal Work-Study position.
- Students must apply for available positions, which are limited.
- Students must be enrolled and attending at least part time. Students who withdraw from all classes are no longer eligible for student employment.
- A student must show evidence of academic progress and of the ability to maintain satisfactory standing in a course of study while employed.
College work program
Students not eligible for Federal Work-Study may apply for the college work program, an institutionally funded program. Students wishing to participate do not have to prove financial need.
- Students must be enrolled and attending at least part time. Students who withdraw from all classes are no longer eligible for student employment.
- A student must show evidence of academic progress and of the ability to maintain satisfactory standing in a course of study while employed.
